NOTICES FOR 2015 TERM 2 WEEK 1


IMPORTANT INFORMATION

  • Due to the PTC, we will be unable to have our Troop Meeting as per normal
  • PLs have been briefed on the conduct of Friday’s meeting. Please check with them
  • There will be no need for Full U this Friday
  • Return your Job Week Cards and Cash to your Patrl Leaders.
  • Convert all coins into notes.
  • Troop Meeting will be focused on our Gangshow preparation

Our South Area is organising this Campfire. Notice has been given to our Scouts earlier in the year.

Scouts Day 6th March

Due to various clash of events, we are commemorating our Scouts Founders' Day on 6th of March instead of 22nd February.

Outdoor Troop Meeting on 6th March 2015

OUTDOOR TROOP MEETING

DATE:      FRIDAY, 6th MARCH 2015
FALL IN:   1420hrs
DISMISS:  2100hrs
VENUE:     SASS Auditorium / Out of school

We will be bringing RKS 1A and Sec 1B out for a night walk to get them exposed to the outdoors.

This meeting will provide us an oppotunity to have an outdoor Troop Meeting as well as give you the opportunity to show your PLs and Adult Leaders your leadership potential as well as some core scouting skills and values.

THINGS TO BRING:

Everything must be waterproofed
  1. Scouts are to wear Scouts T-shirt with Scarf and comfortable walking shorts
  2. Comfortable walking shoes with socks (Sandals and slippers NOT ALLOWED)
  3. Small day pack or bagpack to carry food and water bottle and Reflection Journal (Sling Bags not recommended, hand carried bags or plastic bags NOT ALLOWED)
  4. Plastic bag for own rubbish (no dustbin in the forest, everything must be brought out)
  5. 1.5l water bottle (No sharing. Minimum is 1.5l. 500ml and 1l bottles is NOT SUFFICIENT)
  6. Raincoat / Poncho (Umbrellas NOT ALLOWED)
  7. Writing Materials in a plastic sleeve for water proofing
  8. Dinner items*
  9. Digital Camera** (no using of handphones)
  10. Cap**

**Optional

*Dinner items should be in sufficient quantity just for each boy. Boys who forget to bring these foods can go to NTUC or Ang Moh Supermarket in potong pasir after school to buy them. Remind boys about halal and vegetarian considerations before sharing their foods.

  • Air tight container to contain all foods (so that we don't get trailed and hunted by monkeys and insects in the forest)
  • Sandwich bread
  • Canned tuna / sardines / luncheon meat
  • Pre-cooked sausages
  • Powdered drinks

  • Isotonic Drinks (MUST NOT be counted as part of the 1.5l water requirement)
  • Tissue paper / Serviettes
  • Muesli bars / energy bars

IMPORTANT NO-NOs with regards to food.

  • Chocolate / Sugary bars / sweets are NOT ALLOWED as it increases thirst.
  • Fresh vegetables will not last till 6pm. By the time it is consumed, it will not be safe for consumption.
  • No Precooked meals allowed ie Chicken Rice, Mee Goreng etc as their Eat-by time will expire before they have a chance to eat it increasing chances of indigestion and food poisoning.

Gangshow / Campfires Updated 2015

The calendar has been updated for invitational gangshows and campfires that we have received so far.

All campfire timings are from 1700hrs - ~2230hrs.
Scouts are to meet in at the Scout Den in Full U and will be dismissed from the venue itself.
Invitational campfires and gangshows may end earlier or slightly later than 2230hrs. Scouts are to inform their PLs of any timing issues they face.

Compulsory for all except Sec 3s and Sec 2NA due to the school organised Sec 3 camp and Camp Pride.
